HUTT CIVIC CENTRE
(To the Editor) Sir, —Your leader in this matter is timely; it. is clear and well thought out. The plan outlined by Mr. Ponder in another column of that issue, as presented by him to the Chamber of Commerce, is very interesting, so far as flic public is at present informed, and it seems will be well worth consideration with the other schemes. The report appears to be the work of a man of vision and wide experience. • A suggestion is made regarding the bus system of control that seems to be a nearly satisfactory solution of the controversy as to bus stops, during the last few months. This is still a burning, question, and the position lms become worse now that winter lias come: I take it that Mr. "Pouder's plan is .that buses load and unload near Exchange. This is close to the scheme recommended by the Ratepayers" Association, which the City Council did not accept. Mr. Bonder's suggestion is an easy way out of the bad arrangement now operating, and there appears to be no good reason against adopting it now. I note that Mr. Griffin, an openminded "citizen, ' says the present terminus is "absurd" lie is right. —I am , etc., RATEPAYER.
