WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION

ST. STEPHEN'S CHURCH Guest speaker lor the June meeting of St. Stephen's Women's Association was Miss Evelyn Watson, of the National Council of Women, who chose for the subject, of her talk, "The Good Earth." As a foundation to her remarks a portion of the 2nd chapter of Genesis was read, followed by some vivid de--scriptions of A'ery beautiful scenery and exquisite colourings provided by nature for all lovers of natural beauty. The earth is here, said the speaker, for men's use and enjoyment, and it behoves each one to make the best of the "good earth." around our homes, both from the point of view of utility and of beautifying the landscape. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker, who was presented with a box daintily arranged with luculia and fern. • Miss L. Davys entertained with elocutionary items tind was also presented with a floral spray. Visitors from Nelson and several new members were welcomed by the president. A "bring and buy" table, under the management of Mesdames Alington and Spencer, was well patronised during the tea interval. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Alington and Spencer (conveners), Deal, Humphrey, Lopdell and McDonald.
