HUTT GOLF CLUB

OFFICIAL OPENING OF SEASON At the annual meeting of the Hutt Golf Club the following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. H. Wagg; vicepresidents, Messrs. G. P. Roberts and C. 11. Matthews; captain, Mr. J. F. Pym (re-elected); Committee, Messrs. I. A. Ewen, .1. S. Hunter, J. A. Jacques, J. 11. James. L. Monkman, and G. C. Phillips. Mrs. J. 11. Wagg, who has been a member of the club for 40 years and had been secretary of the Women's Club for the major portion of that time was elected a life member. The opening day of the season was held on Saturday, when a good muster of golfers attended. The Canadian mixed foursome was won by Mrs. J 3. J. Dudley and J. S. Park, who returned an excellent card ol' 4 up. Other good cards were returned by Mrs. G. S. Austad and R. E. Pope, 2 up, and Mrs. J. II Monleith and F. Manderson, all square. Four Ball Best Ball Bogey: T. M. Teat and H. Marshall, snr., 7 up; J. L. Black and N. Sherwood, (1 up; C. and G. Tustin, 5 up. Single Bogey—H. R. Brien, all square; R. Dailey, J down; D. Griffin, 3 down. In the 4-ball game J. L. Black’s card for the second 9 holes read 3, 2,4, 4,4, 4,2, 4, 4. Total 31, G strokes under the par of the course. He was 39 for the first 9, finishing up with a 70, 4 strokes below par.
