HIGH SCHOOL CRICKET

In the cricket match between Hutt Valley High School and Wairarapa College an outstanding performance was given by John 'Reid, captain of the Hutt team, who scored 189 of his team's score of 333 in the first innings. His score included many .boundaries.

Wairarapa College made only 37 in the first innings, L. Judd taking five wickets for 16 runs and W. Fraser four for 17. In its second innings Wairarapa made 84 runs, A. Nightingale taking five wickets. The game thus resulted in an easy win for Hutt Valley High School. The Hutt Valley'team comprised: J. Reid (captain), W. Fraser, A. Nightingale, L. Judd, K. Smith, J. Thompson, R. McLaren, W. Dobble, T. Beard, I. Stephenson and M. Collins.
