GOLF

TE MARUA CLUB Te Marua Golf Club held a very successful opening recently. In spite of unsettled weather there was a large gathering, and Mr. W. Biggar, club captain, made a happy speech of welcome to the members and visitors, particularly mentioning Mr. and Mrs. Beetes, Mrs. Kissing, and Mrs. Van Vfleuten from Kolonie Mirimar, who were guests of the club, and whom the club hopes to entertain on future occasions. As heavy rain interfered with the play the Canadian Foursome was abandoned, and high tea was served in the club house. After having a very quiet period during the war it is pleasing to find this once-popular club on the active list again, and an energetic committee is doing good work.
