HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT

The High School Assembly Hall was filled to capacity with a most appreciative audience on Friday evening when Rev. M. R. Pirani gave a delightful i-ecital on the School's worlitzer organ. Mr. Pirani concluded his recital with a number of selections from the Mikado which were greatly enjoyed. Mr. Pr.ani, who is now stationed at Ohakea, brought with him three camp companions, each of whom contributed much appreciated numbers. Flying Officer O. R. Levy was heard in two sets of bracketed numbers of vocal selections; Sergt. Geard, a noted trumpet player, also rendered two brackets of choise selections, Mr. Pirani accompanying both of these performers on the organ. L.A.C. I. Sutherland was the pianist of the party and contributed several much appreciated numbers. The School band, under Mr. T. Gray, and the girl's choir, under Mr. I. J. Hills, each gave rendered selections. The Principal, Mr. J. N. Millard, expressed the warm thanlqs of the School to Mr. Pirani and his party for giving up their time to assist the School , also to Mr. Tustin for kind ly help in preparing the organ for the recital. He also paid deserved tri bute to Mr. Grey for his untiring enthusiasm in bringing the band to such a high state of perfection.
