ELECTIONS & POLLS. i v In. order to clarify the position in connection with the recording of j votes oil the 2 7tli May, the Returning Officer makes the following explanations in order that those concerned may make the necessary arrangements for future polls: — Properties registered in more than one name— ■ •": 1. In the ease of husban'd and wife the person whose name or initials appears first is the only one entitled to vote at any election, e.g. Jones, W. P. and B. E.—W. P. Jones only may record the vote or votes. 2. Jones A. & Brown B.—A. Jones only may vote. 3. Brown Brothers —Brown A. & Co. —Estate of A. Brown and any such like —No a ote may be recorded for properties listed as above UNLESS regular notice is given TO THE BOARD that one person is to be registered as the nominal owner. Such one person will however be not eligible if he or she is already registered as a property owner in the River Board District. Transfers of Properties— All transfers of properties must be in the hanjlr of the Board before the closing ot the rolls. Names incorrectly spelt— The property is registered in the name shown on the Rate Demand each year and ratepayers should notify the B'oartfi inaccuracy.
