METHODIST LADIES' GUILD

—-—<$> The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt Methodist Ladies Guild was held in the Church parlour, Mrs Muir presiding. After the usual business afternoon tea was served and several members of the Guild spoke on famous women of the Allied nations. Mrs. Jb\ J. Parker spoke on "Women of Russia" and Mrs. Gandle sang the Russian National Anthem and also the Chinese Anthem., Mrs. A. J. Johnston gave a talk on Mrs. Roosevelt, Mrs. J. King on Mrs. Churchill and Mrs. Heap on Mrs. Chiang Kai Shel<!. The speakers certainly .excelled themselves and were asked to repeat these talks at some future date. Flags of the Allied Nations adornthe walls of the Church parlour and thanks *are due to those people who| lent them for the occasion.
