RED CROSS GARDEN PARTY.
A very successful garden party was held on Saturday afternoon on behalf of the Lower Hutt Red Cross Voluntary Aid' Normal Activities Fund, at the residence of the president, Mrs. John Mitchell, Woburn Road. A guard of honour was formed by the V.A.Ds to red'eive Mr. J. Enders, Field Director of the American Red Cross, who officially declared the fete open. A very pleasant afternoon was spent in the pleasant surroundings and games'and competitions were enjoyed by the large attendance of .visitors. The following are the winners of the games and competitions:—Cake, 'Mrs Adinore; stockings, Mrs Vogel; cushion, Miss L. Finlay; chocolates, Miss J. Ogilvie; dressing jacket, Mrs R. Sargisson; eggs, Mrs.' Pascoe; tea, Mrs. Douglas; basin, Mrs. Glad*in g. Games: bucket quoits, Mrs Vogel; nail driving, W. Harrison; croquet, Mr. Wood; googly ball, Mr Nicholls; bull board, Miss McMillan The organisers wish to thank all those who helped to make the garden party such a success and to express their appreciation to those who assisted by gifts and dbnations.
