(By "Reveille")
The appeal issued by Colonel Waite for books is still open and the public are requested to leave any donations of suitable reading matter at Mr. Whiternan's store, High St.. Lower Hult, or at the secretary's residence, 52 Adelaide St., Petone. All books received are lor the use of the boys overseas, and will serve to fill in many a leisure hour for our troops stationed in the desert and in areas where the provision of suitable recreation is a difficult prob lem. The R.S.A. rooms, in High St., Lower Hutt, are open each Tuesday and Friday evening for the reception of parcels of books, also Saturday mornings. The R.S.A. Junior Club will hold another of their dances on Thursday March 11, when the usual attractive programme will be available for dancing patrons. Bradley's Dance Band will be in attendance, and this, combined with a good floor and an excellent supper provides the factors necessary for an enjoyable evening.
Members are reminded to reserve Saturday, March 27th for the next Diggers' Night.
Finally the R.S.A. Rooms are now available for casual letting on Saturday evenings. For further details please contact Mr. Fred Smith, the secretary, whose address is 52 Adelaide Street, Petone.
