AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB
The annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic Club was attended by a good muster of members. The report showed that the past season had, under the circumstances, been reasonably successful. There were quite a number of junior members who tool; an interest in athletics, and some very good performances were witnessed. Like all other sporting activities the senior members and many of the officials were now serving with the forces at home and abroad. The club decided to continue operations for the next year and there was every indication that the juniors would do their best and good support was offering. It was decided to commence training in the Recreation Ground on Monday, 9th November, and the officials will be pleased if those who intend to compete would be present on that evening at 6 p.m. The committee would also like to see any old members or persons who have at some time taken an interest in athletic sports come along and give them assistance and fill the gaps of those who are now away serving their country. The following officers were elect-j ed: Patron, Hon. Walter Nash; vicepatron, Mr. J. W. Andres; president, Mr. A. Marshall; vice-president, Mr J. N. Millard; secretary, Miss L. Rosoman; club captain, Mr. C. Hansen; assistant club captain, Mr. J. Hayes; auditor, Mr. A. J. Gearing; delegate to the Athletic Centre Mr, Wi A. Melrose; delegate to the Cycling Centre, Mr. Menzies; executive committee, Messrs Poole, C. J. !)orrian, A. Monigatti, J. D. Henderson, Eyre and J. Hayes.
