EPUNI WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.

<*>-- - Under excellent weather conditions the Epuni Women's Institute held their monthly meeting at the Birch Street Hall, Waterloo, when Mrs. Gebbie presided over a fair attendance, and members and visitors were extended a hearty welcome. A feature of the afternoon was a talk by Mrs. Barnicoat on "London Thirty Years Ago," which proved to be most interesting. At the conclusion of her talk Mrs Barnicoat was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and presented with flowers.

Several competitions were held, a chewing gum model being won by Mrs. Potts whose exhibit was a well made camel. The best flower competition was won by Mrs Strange.

The president reported that, knit;irig was still coming to hand for he men of the Merchant Navy.
