SOLDIERS PARCELS

The local Patriotic Committee, under the direction of its president, Mrs. J. W. Andrews, met on Thursday last for the purpose of packing soldiers' Christmas parcels. The committee again succeeded in making up its quota of fiOO parcels provided with the co-operation of local residents, each parcel containing eleven articles. The great appreciation of the meh who receive these gifts is frequently expressed in most interesting letters of thanks address ed to the committee, and it is a remarkable fact that these letters are received from all parts of the war zone where New Zealanders are stationed. The Committee meets at its headquarters, near Rovar Taxis, every fourth Thursday in each month.
