"■ ♦ HUTT BOWLING, TENNIS AND CROQUET CIAIS The annual meeting of the tennis ■feectiqri, of the above club t was helt. in the pavilion on Wednesday evening lagt. The " report and balance sheet proved most satisfactory. The membership of the club is well maintained and there is every prospect of a successful incoming season. A pleasing feature of the ladies' midweek club was the steady increase in the number of players to be seen on the courts every Wednesday afternoon. As many of the male members of the club are serving with the armed forces both overseas and at home, and heavy calls; are being made upon the time of those remaining, a request was made for the lady members to undertake the management of the club for the ensuing year. The following officers were elected: Hon. secretary, Mrs. Maurice Upton; club captain, Mrs. J. C. Stevenson; refreshment convenor, Mrs. Geo. Wright; committee: I. Willis, Geo. Hill, J. Lowe and E. Weistell. It was decided to open the hard courts for play on Saturday, September 26th, the official opening tc be held over until the opening of the combined sections of the club early in October, when the club prel- - Mr. E. F. Hollands, will liresent the trophies won during the past season.
