Mrs Summers welcomed -members at the July meeting of the Stokes Valley Women's Institute, and Mrs Baker sang two . delight l'u 1 soius. A f. line display of articles made from papier mache was on show. This line work, done by four ladies, is to be handed over to the Stokes Valley Emergency Hospital. A largo number of squares were handed in for the making of a warm quill. A number of tins of shortbread were the result of the cobipeti tion this month and was won by Mrs VVarmington wiili .Mrs Robertson second. The best llovvor was won by Airs. Whiternan. An auiuSin# play reading, entitled "In the Cellar" was put. on by Mrs D0w.40-and her drama group. The monthly parcels' sen) to Mrs. .Mitchell were much appreciated." A. spray of Mowers was presented to Mrs liakcr, and a. box of sweets to the president, .Mrs. Combe, who is recovering front an illness.
