AOKMAL ACTIVITIES FUND The training of girls as voluntary aids by the Red Cross Society is a valuable work which is even more essential in war time than in peace time. In order that the girls may be trained under conditions as similar as possible to those they will later meet, in hospital, a good deal of equipment is required. Members of the Lower Hutt. Voluntary Aid Detachment are holding a garden party at the home of Mrs J. Mitchell. " Roscrea," Woburn Road, on Saturday, March 2Xtli, proceeds from which are to be used to purchase equipment, for their •training. In tlie event of an emergency the services of these girls would be invaluable in tlie first aid posts and emergency hospitals, and it is hoped that the garden party, which is being held under the auspices of the Lower Hutt Red Cross Society Norma) -Activities Fund, will receive a fill! measure of public support. Produce, jumble, cake and sweet stalls will be among the attractions flames will be a feature, and those who would tike to play tennis are asked to bring their racquets. Admission charges are: adults, Gd; children half price. The garden party will by opened at 2.20.
