At the last municipal elections he was asked to • stand for the I-lutt City Council, Hut was unable to do so because of a temporary indisposition. He has . beer, an active member of the National Military Reserve since June, 1 n:)9. and was company quartermaster sergeant for C Company which was distributed among the other companies on mobilisation. At thai time Mr Woolloy was granted temporary exemption from military duty to enable him to carry on with the work he was doing for the R.K.A. In the course of his business activities during the between-war years, Mr Woqllev introduced taximeters to New* Zealand and commercialised dictaphones. He was responsible for installing the recording device used in the Supreme Court for an important accident claim about three years ago, and also installed the loud-speaker device for the benefit of the jury. During the last live months he has been secretary of the. Wellington U.S.A. Premises Appeal Committee.
