WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

EPUNI BRANCH Although the weather was very unfavourable, there was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Epuni Women's Institute. The meeting took the form of "Members' Day," and was presided over by Mrs. Potts. Mrs. Anderson acted as secretary and Mrs. Cullimore as treasurer. Pinal arrangements were made!

for a social in aid of soldiers' parcels. There was a good response to the request for members to knit for the Merchant Navy. The Gardening Circle's competition of a floral spray was a great success, every member of the circle competing. The judge was Mrs. Sole. There was also many entries for the best flower. These were judged by a new member, Mrs. Sole being the winner. Afternoon tea was served by the hostess, and the singing of the National Anthem brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close.
