«g> PETONE. An advertisement appears in this issue announcing the annual display of the Hutt Valley Memorial Technical College, I'etone, for Friday, 31st October. This display has in the past been well patronised not only by the parents and former pupils, by also by the general public and even greater support is expected this year. The work of the ruusic and orchestral clubs will again be prominent features of the display. The classes will be in operation at specified times both in the afternoon and evening. Certain of the practical classes will be seen at work at both 1 sessions. An interesting exhibit of wool, illustrative of the work done in the wool-classing class, will be 011 display in the workshop building. Some of the work done by the pupils of the school during the year 1 will be 011 view. The Parents' Association will have their usual produce stall, and will be pleased to receive gifts of produce from parents. They will < also provide tea at a nominal cost * both in the afternoon and at night. < The evening classes play a very important part in the work of the school, and the school authorities < consider that, if the general public were aware of the interesting, in- J struclive and valuable work being J done in these classes, a much ( greater appreciation of their iin- 1 portance would be shown. t The purpose of this display is to J make known not only this work but I also that of the day classes. \ " *" \
