,/ Although bad weather prevailed for the October meeting of the Stpkeß Valley Women's Institute, there was a fair attendance of members. Mrs. Combe welcomed all present, and opened the meeting with the singing of "God Detenu New Zealand." The Hod Cross and Patriotic Circles reported 011 par meats made and knitting sent in during the month. Afternoon tea was- ' served by Mrs. Simon and helpers. The glee singers sang one number * yf'id Mrs. Smith entertained the com TUny with two monologues. Tin Arte *and Crafts members had 01 ' Jllatilav an exhibition of crafts don« jnembers. and were greatly as sisted by Mrs. Young, who ver\ I generously has given them valuable "* assistance throughout the year The crafts members presented Mrs Young with a small gift for all he. untiring work and help.
