ALL HALLOWE'EN BALL

The evening of the Labour uay holiday was the happy occasion chosen by St. James's Girl's Club to hold their annual All Hallowe'en Ball in St. James's Hall. In carrying out the decoration scheme the girls adhered to the Hallowe'en traditions established in Scotland and America, blank-eyed faces in the pumpkin frieze around the walls grinned eerily at the dancers, and overhead witches' black cats, cut in black paper, were festooned from wall to wall. The word "±iallowe'en" in bold orange lettering stood out in relief against the black stage curtains, and the official party, including Rev. and Mrs. H. E. K. Fry, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Hedge, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Stamp, Mr. and Mrs. E. Mac Lean, anu Mr. and Mrs. Wedekind, were seated 011 a dais decorated with bamboo and greenery. The artistic floral decorations in the supper room, where golden tones predominated, were the work of Mrs. A. V. Stamp.

The music was supplied by that well-known local orchestra, "The Rhythm .Maestros," Rev. M. R. Pirani being the leader.
