LOWER HUTT BRANCH

The monthly meeting - of the Lower Hutt W.C.T.TJ. was held in the Church of Christ on Wednesday. The president occupied the cnair, and Mrs. Swift led the devotions. A good number of members were present, also members from the Petone Union and several visitors. Arrangements were made for the jumble sale for Friday evening. Literature was handed round to all members for distribution. Mrs. Perryman was the speaker for the afternoon, and she gave a very helpful and stirring address. Particulars were given dealing with the official paper, "The White Ribbon," also with many facts about Prohibition in America.

Mrs. Perryman received a bunch of daphne from the president, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded her for her address.

The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Baigent and Lopdell.

The meeting closed with the Benediction.
