Young Peoples Club

The Rendezvous, a new club for young people in .'the Hutt Valley, had its opening night recently at Eva Draper's Studio, which is to be used'as its club rooms. There was a very good attendance, and by the enthusiasm shown, the club faces a very bright and active future. Mr. D. Palmer outlined the suggested itinerary, which is to take the form of indoor games, social and musical evenings, ballroom dancing, talks, etc. As an example of the talent available, several of the members, led by Mr. R. Triplow, gave come impromptu musical numbers, which proved exceedingly popular. The evening drew to a close with supper supplied by the committee, and a short dance programme ended a very successful night. The following committee was elected: Patron, Miss Eva Draper; president, Mr. G. Persson; hon. secretary, Mr. D. Palmer; hon. treasurer, Miss M. Hodgin; and Miss D. Palmer, Mr. R. Triplow, Mr. S. Saunders and Mr. R. Pilcher.
