CARNIVAL DANCE

$ Over :iOO attended .the carnival dance at Birch Street Hall last Saturday night organisd by the local branch of the Labour Party. Music from an excellent orchestra kept the floor well filled, an'd carnival hats, streamers, and favours added to the general gaiety. Over a dozen couples received prizes in novelty dances, competition for these being particularly keen. Mr. T. " Muir made a capable master of ceremonies. The ladies' supper committee included Mesdames W. Clout (navy floral satin), E. Cocker (midnight blue georgette), W. Jarvie (black satin), K. Gardner (scarlet georgette), and J. Colman, and the general committee comprised ! Messrs. W. Jarvie (chairman), G. I Lamont, J. Colman, R. Scott. K. j Gardner, A. Collins, V. Collins, S. I Patterson, W. Clout, R. Collins, | and J. Smith. j Next Saturday the usual weekly 1 dance will be held, when patrons are assured of the usual enjoyable ! evening.
