NEW ZEALAND SLIPPERS LTD. In spite of the weather conditions on Saturday, the staff of N.Z.' Slippers had an enjoyable outing at Maori Bank. Races for the children were run off in the morning, and the young folk were well supplied throughout the day with soft drinks, ice cream, etc. The ladies' staff championsh.p of 100 yards was won by Miss N. Ford, while Mr. M. Drane won the men's championship. Silver cups for these two events will be prethe stall dance to be held this week. Another event which attracted a good deal of attention was the interdepartment tug-o'-war, which was was won by the clinking department after a strenuous pull. The cup for tljis event will be competed for annually. The machine department won a silver cup for the highest points gained. Points are: Machine Department 12, Clinking Department 10, Making Department 4, and Finishing Department 3. This cup will also be competed for annually. The guessing competition was won by B. Wells. A community sing brought a very pleasant day to a close.
