Gar Struck by Train

INJURED Mr. John- Johnston 'Reich, aged 77, company director, B.elmont Road, Hutt, and his wife,'wbrb'seriously injured when a car driven by Mr, Reich was struck by the. engine of a train at the Melling-Western Hutt Road crossing oii Friday morning. Mr. arid- Mrs. Reich both received severe shock and cuts to the head and face and are now mating satisfactory progress. • Mr. Reich was making tho turn from the Western Hutt Road into Melling Road when his car was struck. It was sent 10 yards by the force of the impact and turned on one side. The occupants Were thrown out. Mr. ami Mrs. Reich were taken as fur as Loyycr Hutt in the •guard's van of tho train and there attended l)y Dr. Nash. they wero then taken to tho Knight's Road Hospital, by the Free Ambulance. Mi'* Reich's injuries were loss severe than those of her husband. Mr. Reich is chairman of directors of tho Union Clothing Company, chairman of directors of the Wellington Trust, Loan and Investment Company, Ltd., and a director of the Scoullar Company, Ltd. He is also one of the oldest members of tlity < Wellington Bowling 'Club.
