RECITAL
A very pleasant and successful recital was given in Wesley Hall recently by Mrs Noel Taylor 's Glee Club and pupils, in aid of the Karitane JJospital. A very large and appreciative audience filled 'the hall to capacity, and the performers received frequent encores and many floral tributes. The stage was decorated with golden spring flowets, hydrangeas and 1 foliage.
The chorus items by a well-balanced choir of youthful voices were all well given, perhaps the most artistically rendered-being that of "All in the April Evening,'' and the contrasting Cachucha, to which Miss- M. Barton in the role of Spanish donna, danced the solo with grace and gay abandon. Other musical numbers, .pianoforte solos, duets, and songs were given by Miss Beatrice Taylor, Mrs. Porter, Miss Phyllis Grieg, Miss E. Jones, Mrs. Hanratty, Miss J. Pryde, Miss M. iGhesney, Miss M. Pocknall, Mrs. Aldricli, Miss Dahl, Miss H. Prydo, Miss Diana Nisbet, (Jolyn Hynes, Miss Peggy Milne, Miss Marvis Orr, Miss M. Wells, and little Beatrice Taylor. The glees were conducted by Mrs. Noel Taylor audi the accompanists were Sirs. J. W. Andrews and Mrs. Noel Taylor.
