Queen Carnival
V . HUTT VAHLEY LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION. The delegates at the annual meeting of the above Association) instructed the management committee to proceed with ,a queen, carnival to augment the grounds fund'for the Association courts, The queen carnival ia being jpu't into operation under the able guidance of Mr. R. D. .Smith and the result rests entirely with the enthusiasm and energy that the Hutt Valley players should put into it. The Valley has been divided into four sections North, South, East and West, and each section has been, arranged so that the numerical strength of each is approximately the | same. For the information of all players the following are the queens selected, also their committee secretaries and colours. North—Miss Violet Friiso-r (colour, violet). Secretary, Mr. Darby, Downer Street, Lower Hutt. South — Miss Olive MacMillau (colour, royal blue). Secretary, Mis. Norman, Jiiwi Street, Lower Hutt. ' East — Miss Yvonne Blackmore (coiour, red). Secretary: Mr. W. ii. Jarman, Penrose Street, Lower Hutt. West—Miss Zena O'Neil (colour, gold). Secretary;' Mr. W. J. Clellard. William Street, Petone. All players are asked to help to make this effort worth while. Association courts are very ibadly needed in the Hutt Valley and the sub-committee ia chaTgo af the queen carnival is anxious that all members of clubs should do their part. The carnival will be run for about six weeks and a 'big "wind up'' function will be held about the middle of December when the winning queen will be crowned.
