LOCAL STUDIOS' SUCCESSES.

During Hie current year, Mi™ Kathleen Bartosh's School of Dancing has had the distinction of winning six championships, .'SB first prizes, 28 second prizes, and numerous third and honourable mention certificates in dancings together with nine first prizes, nine second prizes and third and honourable mention certificates in elocution and children's songs. This record is understood to be iihead of that of any other dancing school in the Dominion. At the Napier Competitions, held last Easter, the babies' championship was won.by I'. Full, the .junior championship. by D. Larsen, and the intermediate championship by ,T. Lewis. In all there were .13 first, prizes and 10 second prizes. At ' the Wellington Eistedfodd, held lust -May, the babies' was won Vy L. Larsen,

the junior championship by E. Adams, and the intermediate championship by D. Larsen. Total number of wins were 15 first prizes and 1C second prizes. In the Wellington Competitions, held in August, Miss Bartosh's studio again had the leading 1 number of prizes, with 14 first prizes and nine second prizes. Successful pupils in the foregoing competition festivals in addition to those already mentioned were: K. Caldwell, N. Keys, Z. Turvey, K. Elliott, D. Stvaffield, M. Trowor, D. Elliott, It. Guise, J. Noble, H, Elgic, B. Waddell, M. Turner, P. Trimmer, N. Stewart, S. Bentley, M. Hoskins, B. Elliott, L, MeKercher, A. Kinkie and N. Wilson. Residents of the llutt Valley will have the opportunity of seeing lor ( themselves .these children who have brought so manV honours to the district.
