Mr, Doug. Mougini a member ot' the Wc'iurn Badminton Club, was successful in winning the North Island badminton championship "B" singles held at New Plymouth recently. A contract for extensive additions to , their factory at Petone has been let by Messrs W. D. and 11. O. Willis Ltd 1 , to the Fletcher Construction Co. The work has been designed by Mr. Llewellyn E. Williams, architect and strue-' turtil engineers uf Wellington, and the construction ,is to be supervised by Mr Campbell Colquhoun, clerk of works, of Pharazyn Street, Lower Hutt. The work will give employment to a considerable number cf. men for six ot . seven months. The Vicar (liev. H. E. K. Try), announced at St. James's Church last Sunday that the Rev. J. It. Neild, 8.A., LTh., had been appointed to be vicar of Paraparaumu. Mr. Neild, who has been assistant curate of St. James's parish since last October, will be starting his work in the Paraparaumu and I'aekarakariki district in the New Year. : As a result of the generous action of the Misses Perry in holding a private sale of their pictudes, the sum of £i> has been handed tu the Mayor's lielief Fund.
