HUTT BOWLING, TENNIS and CROQUET CLUB.
Tennis Section Notes.
Saturday next our teams will be competing in the Hutt Valley Tournament. The A Team will be playing on our own courts against Trentham, while the B Team will journey to Taita. Both teams will be out to give a good account of themselves, especially after the A Team's defeat by Muritai.
In the club handicaps several interesting games have been played, the contests being very close, which is gratifying to the handicappers.
In the Men's Singles, H. Ginger plus 10, defeated A. J. Nicholls (scr) after a good even game. The winner got back to. his game of former years and his win was well earned.
W. Lees junr., defeated R. Rawnsly. Both players started from scratch and only two points separated them at the finish—6o 58. These players showed good form and if the winner took tennis an seriously, as he does cricket, he would in a short time be one of the best players in the Valley.
Another game of interest was played in the Men's Doubles when T. Ward and R. Rawnsley met and defeated V. Douglas and R. McDonald. The play in this match was fast and at times brilIriant, Perhaps the losers will have a cnance at revenge when the. championships come along.
