ST. JAMES'S KINDERGARTEN SUNDAY SCHOOL.

PIANO FUND. CONCERT

What proved to be one of the most popular concerts of the season was held in St. James's Hall last Wednesday evenin. The programme was organised by the teachers of the Kindergarten department under the leadership of Miss E. Hardy, the Superintendant, to whom much credit is due. A "tiny tots" concert is somewhat of a novelty in this district, possibly because the producers feel that the immense difficulty of the task is too great to be overcome, and it has usually happened that olfler performers are enlisted for the bulk of the programme. Long before eight o'clock many people were in attendance, and before the curtain rose, the seating capacity of the hall was fully taxed. The audience received each item in a sympathetic manner, giving the little ones unstinted praise. Among the most popular items were the dances by '' Miss McKay, a talented little lady who received welldeserved applause. A pretty number was the song, "lUI Telephone to Santa Glaus'' by Miss Stead and the little fellows from the Boys' Home, while a lighter touch was given by S. Douthett, M. Sterling and F. Jenders" in '' Johnny Come Here." The cat in this particular number was much, admired, The other musical numbers in the first part of the programme were well done —"Leetle Mr. Baggy Breeches,'' and '' Three Green Bonnets" by J. L. Carter and the Misses C. Tunley, P. Perfect, and E. Helyar. Recitations were given by E. Taylor, E. Tremewan and 11. Jones, B. Harris, C. Neilson, L. Langtry, P. Henry, J. Carter and C. Instone. The pianoforte duet by Miss H. Hardy and Miss M Hurst was well played, while the wellknown ''Vespers" recited by B. Charlesworth concluded the first half. The second half of the programme was a playette of Fairyland in which the songs and dances appealed to the audience. At the conclusion of the programme Miss Hardyp presented a box of chocolates to each performer.
