MUSICAL EVENING

1 An interesting and very enjoyable en- I tertainment was held in the Trinity Congregational Schoolroom on Tuesday, August 28th, when the members of the Church choir, assisted by several friends, presented a varied and sparkling programme which met with hearty approval by the crowded house. The items were as under: —Pieces by the choir, "Sweet and Low," "Bells of St. Mary's," "Because"; piano solos, Miss Stassen and King; violin solo, Mr. Doug. Parsonage; violin, Messrs D. Parsonage and C. Hoddernott; spngs, "Arise O Sun," (with violin obligato), Miss Morris;"" When you look in the Heart of a Rose" Miss GwenJarvis; "Dulcie and the Moa," Miss D. Milne; "I f?assed by your window," Mr. Ted. Leggott; ventroloquist, Mr. G. "Vaughan; recitations, "Beetles" Miss Betty Smith; "Lend of storybooks '' Miss Joy Smith; '< Hymns of the old Church Choir" (soloist Miss Morris); selections, Gaiety Orchestra, cornet solo, Mr. Redmond; conjuring tricks, Mr. A. Vaughan; lightning sketches, Mr. Roy Woodley. Accompanists, , Messrs B. Leyland and- H. Rodney, 1 At the close, the performers, the choirmaster (Mr. Leyland, who organised the entertainment), and all who assisted, were accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
