LOWER HUTT COURT
At the Lower Hutt Court on Tuesdayr,. 21st inst., charges of breaches of tlie by-laws were heard by Messrs D. C. Martin, J.P., and F. Feast J.P. For exceeding the speed limit in motor vehicles, G. J. Bean and H. Bowie were each fined 40s; C. J. Cunningham, O. J. France, I. Hobman, J. P. Peterson, N.. N. Liebezeit and K. Downes (two charges) were each fined 20s W. Nieol who defended his ease was fined 10s for cutting a corner and 10s for exceeding the speed limit round the corner. Charles Carter for failing to produce his driver's license, was fined 10s and for allowing a motor truck to stand partially on the footpath was fined 20s. i Fines of 10s each were inflicted upon Henry" Kelly, W. Ellis, L. Gosse, J, Mason, W. Mitchell, E. D. Smith, A. H. Mawson L. Corbett and J. Orr for riding unlighted cycles at night. Judgment for the plaintiffs by default was given in the following eases j —Clendon Bros. v. H. V. Hoverd, costs only 18?; Clendon Bros v. H. B. Hitter costs only 20s; Clark and Co. v. A. Garner, £8 8s; F. Pryke v. W. H. Gibbons, £13 19s 2d; A. J. Arnold v. A. Wallace £4 3s; W. Austin v. P. Ed- j wards, 15s 9d; H..V. Arnold v. J. Brady, £3 9s 9d; W. Watson v. Norman Hicks, £7 10; Hutt Meat Co. v. J. Ogg £2 16s 6d; Mason Bros. v. J. Ogg and W. Huddlestone, £17 7s 8d; Howe and Brown v. W. Duncan £2 0s 3d.
