IN AND AROUND TAITA.
The usual euchre party and dance was 'held on Tuesday evening last, when Mrs. -J. Peck was successful in winning the ladies' prize and Mr. F. Kitchener yon the gent's prize. , The aggregate prizes for the past eight weeks was won by .Mrs. G. Hope and Mr. W. Kilminster * * * * Qn Saturday night, September Ist, the Petone Maori Variety Entertainers will present a brilliant entertainment at the Taita Hall in aid of the Stokes Valley School. The programme to be submitted will be one of exceptional merit IBS those attending are assured of a i-eal good night's entertainment. Among the many star turns that will be presented will be the following: —"Kiss and Make Up," "Raniona," "Shernard Baw," *' Tea at the Towers," '' Before and AfMarriage," and the Maori Troupe. The ballets will also be a feature. One of the "hits" of the night will be the Albert Jazz Band, a combination of clever instrumentalists, each player being an artist of ability. The buses will leave the Stokes Valley Hall at 7.40 p.m for the Taita Hall, picking up passengers en route. • * * * * A notice in connection with the socials and dances at the Taita Hall will be . found in our advertising columns.
