BOROUGH COUNCIL STAFF DANCE.

The staff of the Lower Hutt Borough Council held their first dance last Fridayevening in the King George dance haU. An energetic committee worked very hard and were most assiduous in looking after their guests, The Star Orchestra ren/locd excellent music and the supper was all that could be desired. The chaperons were Mesdames Knox, Bush, and Blackmore. Fletcher, green taffetta; Mrs. Meßain, frock of* black, trimmed with gold lace; Mrs. Carver, black velvet frock, pink ro.se at waist, cream shawl; Miss Yvonne Blackmore, lemon georgette; Mrs. Power, lavender frock; Mrs. Vagg, black frock trimmed with gold lace; Mrs Hoggard, lavender taffetta, rose pink shawl; Mrs. King, black frock; Mrs. Slinn, silver and blue frock; Mrs. Breech, pale pink tafotta; Mrs. Bob Adams, white sequined frock; Mrs. Campbell, white frock; Mrs. Newell, pale lavender frock'; Miss Kingdon, pale blue frock; Miss Hogg, pale green with touches of gold; Miss Ethel Jones, black panne velvet with diamante trimming; Miss Kilminster, black frock, full skirjfc beaded with coloured ribbon; Miss Jean Hendry, frock of old rose marriette; Miss Brooks, torquoise blue velvet; Miss Meßain, soft white eharnieuse pink, rose on shoulder; Miss Mavis Meßain, silver frock with white shawl embroidered in pink; Miss Ehelma Eskine, pink georgette frock; Miss Zita Blaekmore, cyclamen taffeta; Miss Mary Sweetzer, lime marriette; Miss Jean Innes, frock of white charmeuse trimmed with touches of pink mirror velvet; Miss Marjory Wood, blue frock with an overdress of silver lace; Miss Dorothy Wood, scarlet crepe de chene; Miss Theo Baigent pale pink frock.
