P. and T. ANNUAL DANCE.

The P. and T.. staff dance is always regarded as one of the most popular events of the season and on Wednesday, 15th inst the popular event was declared a huge success. Though the climatic conditions were extremely .unattractive the .dance hall of King George Theatre was comfortably filled. An energetic committee had spared no pains to provide an attractive programme and to tastefully decorate the hall with streamers of green and red and balloons of many shades, and from the centre a large butterfly gracefully floated over the dancers.

Many complimentary remarks were showered on the excellent orchestra under the direction of Mr. Pascoe.

The supper arrangements which were in the capable hands of Messrs L. and W. Oughton, was delightfully served; the tables being decoi-ated in yellow.

The novelty dances were quite a feature of' the evening and were greatly enjoyed by all.

Among the guests present were: — Mrs McNamara, in a handsome frock of white, bodice of silver lace, full skirt with long fringe embroidered in i pale pink roses; Mrs Ogilvie, dainty black georgette frock, skirt full, and coloured roses worked on hemj Mrs Hughes, pale green georgette frock trimmed with guipirre lace; Mrs Wallace, black crepe de chene frock with black and silver shawl; Mrs Black wore pale pink; Mrs Taylor, green georgette; Mrs Brooks, turquoise blu^e velvet frock; Mrs Vagg, pale pink georgette shawl to tone; Mrs King wore a dress of black and silver; Mrs henna frock, shawl to match; Mrs Newell, pale pink frock; Mrs. Stonehouse; black frock; Mrs Kennington, royal blue, shawl to tone; Mrs Barron, black frock; Mrs Power, lavender beaded georgette frock, lavender shawl; Miss M. Cobhani, black frock; Mrs Emery, cinnamon georgette, white shawl; Miss Smith pale blue frock; Miss Mclntosh, pale blue charmeuse, pink rosebuds on bodice; Miss B. 'Davis, black dress trimmed with* touches of silver; Miss Wheeler, pale blue frock; Miss Glover, pale pink frock, shaAvl to tone; Mrs W. Taylor, beaded frock of cornflower georgette. . '

Among the gentlemen present were: — Messrs McNamara, Clouston, Ogilvie/ Wallace, Stainton, Power, Stonehouse, Newellj Kennington, Vagg, King, Campbell, Brooks, Passmore, Burrell and Hayes.
