(By "ISADORA") Steamed Pudding (quickly made). One breakfastcupful of flour, 3 tablespoonfuls of butter or dripping, 2 tablespoonfuls of sugar, £ cup of sultanas, 3 breakfastcupful of milk, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoonful of soda (dissolve in milk). Melt butter. Mix all thoroughly and steam 2 hours or longer. One teaspoonful of bakingpowder and 1 egg may be substituted for the soda and then only half a cupful of milk is used. Lemon Blancmange. Two tablespoonfuls cornflour (mixed with a little water), 1 small cupful sugar, yolks of 2 eggs, 1 large lemon (juice and grated rind), 1 dessertspoonful butter, 1 pint of boiling water. Boil all together for 2 minutes and then beat in the whites of eggs (already beaten) and set in a mould. One Egg Cake (Good).
