[FROM OUR OVTX COIIRESI'OXDEXT.] Major Scannel, Judge of the Native Lund Court arrived here on Thursday evening with the interpreter and assesor—The Natives had the Court adjourned till Monday. The Natives are not as a whole in favour of the Court and not only wish their own Parliament to decide and adjueate upon their land. There is only a small majority in favour of the Land Court at present. xinother cause why they do not want the Court at this time is the scarcity of food ou account of the frost and Draught: Potatoes and others crops are backward and it will be the middle of February before they are ready to gather.
The new residence of Mr J. Crovrther iu near completion under the? hammer of Mr J. Ross. There are not many Tourist at pre» sent in evidence here The low tare have not induced an extra amount to avail themselves of seeing Taupo.
