In an article in a London paiad dealing with insects the following app< ars conc.'riiing the abundance and use of grasshoppers in Now Zealand : 'ln New Zealand, where grasshoppers are more thau abundant, they are used for food by Europeans. Grasshoppers are pronounefd a great delicacy in New Z aland when prepared according to the following formula : One bushel of the insects is immersed two hour* in half a gallon of pi.ik brine. The insects are tbeu boiled in the liquid fos 10 minutes, then thoroughly rinsed in warm water and piaced in an oven to become criap. When cold the heads are removed, and they ore ready to be eaten,'
