Defiant Youth leaps boldly I'ortb, "To conquer all," his vow ; The world shall bend the k ieo to him, For hope has kissed his brow. Triumphant Youth proud power wields, Men highly of him speak ; I'ho 'world has bent the knee to him, For Fane has kissed his cheek. Defeated Youth lies prone and cold— Stark to the finger-tips; And he in turn Ims bent the knee, For Deatli has kiiaed his lips.
