ROTORUA JOCKEY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING.
The above to. k place on Wednesday last. The meeting was a great auccess, the attendance being large and the weather splendid. The Hon. Mr C'adman accompanied by his Private Secretary, Mr B. M.' Wilson, and Mr Kelly, M.H.H. were present. The first race was ran at 12.40 noon, and it was nearly 7 p.m. when the last one came off. The following were the results : 1. Handicap Htjbslx Pace of 30sov, second horse to receive ssov out of the stakes. Ovei 8 flights of hurdles 3ft 6in high ; nomination, 15s; acceptance, 15s. Distance, two
miles. J. Ckment's Viceroy 1 Horomona's Hiki ... ... 2 2. Maiden Plate of 12bov, second horse to receive 2sov out of the stakes. For all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding £lO in valuo. Entrance, 12s ; distance, one mile. J. H. G. Anaboldi's KelTingrove 1 S. Moody's Ahuriri 2 i'. Handicap Pony Hurdles of 15 eovs, second horse to receive 3sovs out of the stakes. For ponies 14-2 and under ; over 5 flights of hurdles 3ft high ; nomination 7 b Cd; acceptance, 7s 6d; distance, one mile and a quarter. J. Clement's Libeller 1 Pukuteneto's Hauriti 2 4. Clement's Libeller 2 9. Bueton Handicap Stakes of 20<jovs, second horse to receive 3sovg out of the stake*. Nomination 10s acceptance 10s. Distance one mile and a half. M. S. Laurie's Lady Marion ... 1 J. BiDg's La Grippe 2 And there were two Maori Hack RnctH. Everything passed ofE well with one exception. In the Handicap Hurdle Bace ten horses run, five fell at the hurdles, and an unfortunate accident occurred the horse Kokho had its back broken. Totalisator passed £568. The gate receipts were £54 being double what it was last year.
