SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The above held their ordinary meeting on Monday evenir.g, in the Library. Present —Mr W. M. Puicell, (in the ebair,) Messrs Corlett, Fitzgerald, Williams and the S- cretary. The minuteß of the previous not ting were read and confirmed. The Ht ad-teacher's report was read and approved. INWA.BD CORHESPONDKNCE. From the New Zealand Society for the protection of rromenand children. From the Auckland Education Board, promising a grant of £1 10a for an open drain outside of the School building. ±Vom Board of Education re the election of members for the Board of Education. From Board of Education advising capitation of money paid into the bank £3 15s Bd, for the quarter ending March 31st. 1895. From the Head-ttacher requesting stationery, Ac. From F. B. Scott, in the name of the members of tho Presbyterian Church, asking for the use of the schoolroom on Sunday afternoons. Mr Bussy tendered his resignation uh Secretary to the Committee, owing to his departure from the district. Accepted with regret. Mr Williams was appointed to fill the vacancy for the remaining time that the presen Committee holds office. *
Kesolred tbat the Secretary write to the Board of Education, explaining to them tbat the grant proposed for the open drain is quite inadequate for the purpose. Besolved that this Committee vote for the folio win g gentlemen as members for the Auckland Board of Education, A' P. Harris, H. Wildin, and W. Woodward.
Keeolved that the stationery be procured from Auckland as requested by the Head-teacher.
Besolved that the Secretary write to Mr Scott informing him that the Committee had previously decided, in accordance ■with the wishes of the Auckland Board of Education, not to grant the use of the school for any purposes, t ther than for the benefit of the School itself, and after receiving the report as to the state of the school after being used for various purposes, the < .'omniittee are more Btroi gi\ than ever in opirion that the school should not be let for any outside purpose. .Resolved that Mr Wake's account for £1 10, .eas 2s paid previously, be pas.-ed for payment. Resolved that. Mr Purcell sign cheques in place of Mr Busoy. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the meeting.
