REVENUE DETAILS.
According to the stuleirient. of publie accounts published in the recent Gazette, the amount of ordiuarj revenue fur the quarter ended Dec. 31 1894 was £869,388, which in a decrease af £281,401 compared w.th the same period of the previous year. The only items which show an increase are stamps £154,202, which is £10.177 more than the amount collected for the same period last year, and nosta 1 and telegraph cash receipts £15,119 an incres-e of £2 518. The Customs amounted to £390,079, which is a de crease of £14,640. I lie revenue from land and income tax was £0,452 Beer duty amounted to £17.87-1, a decrease of £-157. Railway levehm amounted to £268,300, a decrease < f £2,412. Registration and other fees amounted to £7,578, a deena-e ol £3,501. Miscellaneous amounted to £4,212, a decrease of £7,532. The amount of territorial revenue shows a decrease of £289,740 compared with the same quarter of the previi us year. The expenditure under the head cf permanent aprropriations was £857,850 a decrease of £07,333 comuared with the same poriod of the previous year. Under the head of annual appropriations the total is £5lO 023 for the quarter ended Dec 31 iast, which is a decrease of £18,428 compared with the name period of the previous year. The amount of New Zealand consols which have been in scribed is £15.1,200, of whieh £1,200 is cash in the deposit account and £150,000 is in the investment account. —LyUelton Times.
