SNAKE WITHIN SNAKE.

Mr Arthur E. Viney writes from Ceres, Cape Colony, to the Times:— Your weekly issue of Oct. 2G came to hand by last mail reporting the extraordinary cannibalistic feat of the boa cooittrictor in the Zoological Gardens. This incident, marvellous though it was, is capped by another which is well authenticated in this neighbourhood. Near the ostrich farm of Mr Millerby a large black snake was recently killed. Aa it appeared unus* nlly fat in proportion to its length it was cut open. Inside it was found a good-sized black make in which were thirty eggf, each of wh'ch contained a young snake, apparently not much the worse for tbeir temporary entombment, Thin makes, therefore) a total of thirty-two suakes iuside one snake !
