Ii is'statfd that a Chinese Hill End (N.S.W) doctor has successfully t-. A/ed a case of mouth-cancer. 'Some m nths ago, an eiigiue-diiver, after having a tooth drawn, developed a cancerous growth which ultimately des royod his palate and spread over the right side of hia face. He was treated:by medical men both locally and in Batburst, without reudvirg relief, atid was admitted into tie Alfred Hospital, Sydney, in Oetober, fie suffered terrible agony, and as nothing could be done to help him, he was advised to return to Hill End. There the Chinese doctor visited him and applied a poultice to his face. Thereafter be suffered no pain, « hard core has come away though the roof of the mouth seems to be healing and the fietsh on the face look 3 healthier. The patient eats heartily, though nith difficulty, and keeps in good spirits. He has of late taken a short walk daily, and is so lapidly gamina strength that he hopes to be at work before the end of tbo month." It will bo interesting to note the future history of this case. The Alfred Hospital authorities tay that the poor man was undoubtedly suffering from cancer—and add that if he lives two years they aro prepared to make obeisance to the Chinaman.
