DIFFICULT CASE FOR JUDGE
ANOTHER REMAND FOR WOMAN CLERK By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Last Night. When Doris Jones, a clerk, of Waipukurau, appeared before Mr, Justice Blair for sentence for theft of sums of money totalling £637 from the Waipukurau County Council she was remanded for another week. She pleaded guilty at Napier and was remanded to Wellington for sentence so that her case could be considered in the meantime. His Honour said he had instituted certain inquiries before coming to his decision, and these were not completed. “There are certain features of your case that are giving me trouble,” he •added. “I am sorry to keep the matter hanging over your head. I don’t want to prolong it, but a certain field of inquiry is not yet completed and I will have to adjourn the case for another week.”
