SUPER-LINERS WITHDRAWN FROM ATLANTIC

By Telegraph —Press Association AUCKLAND, Oct. 16. The Atlantic liner Queen Mary is laid up in the Hudson River, New York, for the duration of the war. Work on her sister ship Queen Elizabeth (85,000 tons), which is within a few months of completion, has been suspended and the vessel will remain indefinitely in her present position in Britain. Information of the suspension of super liner services on the Atlantic was given to-day by Mr. H. Howard, representative in Australia of the Cunard Line, who has been recalled to headquarters owing to the curtailment Of the company’s activities.
