FAREWELL TO MISS JEAN KERR.
LEVIN TENNIS CLUB. ! Members of the Levin Tennis Club foregathered at the residence of Dr. ■nd Mrs. Thompson last Thursday for Ihe purpose of saying farewell to on© If their number, Miss Jean Kerr, who I* leaving to take up work in another ■istrict. The esteem in which Miss Kerr is held was evidenced by the large number present. At a suitable puncture, the President, Dr. Thompson, ipoke, outlining the guest of honour’s (sterling services to the club, and [voicing all members’ appreciation of iier work and unfailing good humour. He wished her on behalf of the club every success in her new work. After the appropriate toast had been drunk, Dr. Thompson presented Miss Kerr Avith a. charming bedside clock and an etching which, he said, he hoped would enable Miss Kerr to remember her association with the Levin Tennis Club. Mr. W, Donnelly, club captain, and Mr. R. Irwin, secretary, also spoke, endorsing the President’s remarks. Miss Kerr, responding, expressed her regret at leaving, and . thanked all members for their kindness in tendering her a farewell and for the delightful gifts.
