ROYAL VISIT TO FRANCE.

AUSTRALIAN GUARD OF HONOUR AMIENS, June 23. The 1500 Diggers in the guard of honour for the King and Queen at Tillers Bretonneirx, will -include 40 who stayed in France after the war, Men, who like Mr. Voss, the Australian trade representative in Paris, married Frenchwomen, and have French-speak-ing families.

They will include a Paris doctor, an Amiens shopkeeper, three bank clerks, a foundry director, a garage proprietor, a chauffeur, a tourist courier, and an Amiens cafe proprietor.

All of them speak English with an Antipodean accent, when they have to apeak it. They have lost none of their Australian outlook and their command of the Australian language. They are planning a very warm wel come for the visiting Diggers and will act as guides and interpreters for those who have forgotten their 10.18 French, though it is not likely there will be a Digger who cannot make his wants know*.

The members of the guard will wear mufti and medals. Later they will be entertained at a reception in the Tillers Brctonneux town hall.
